President Donald Trump urged China and Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, as a new poll showed public support building for Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.
CHINA PROBE
Speaking to reporters before departing for a health-care speech in Florida, Trump said China should probe the Bidens, “because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine.” And the president said if the Ukrainians “were honest about it, they would start a major investigation into the Bidens.”
A call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — in which Trump asked the leader to “look into” the Bidens — is at the heart of Democrats’ impeachment push. Ukraine’s former prosecutor general has said he had no evidence of wrongdoing by the former vice president or his son Hunter, who was on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.
Trump has accused Hunter Biden of using a trip aboard Air Force Two to secure $1.5 billion from China for a private-equity fund, calling it a “horrible thing.” Biden’s lawyer has denied Trump’s charge and said his client had not received anything from the investment.
A poll released Thursday found that 45% of Americans believe the House of Representatives should vote to impeach Trump.

MEDICARE ORDER
While at the Villages retirement community in Florida, Trump is expected to attack Democrats’ Medicare for All proposals while laying out his own health-care vision.
Trump, writes the Wall Street Journal, planning to sign an executive order calling for initiatives to reduce Medicare fraud and bolster privatized Medicare plans.
