At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.46%, while the index added 0.95%, and the index climbed 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:), which rose 2.07% or 3.72 points to trade at 183.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (DE:) added 1.73% or 1.21 points to end at 71.01 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) was up 1.67% or 0.345 points to 21.045 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:), which fell 3.67% or 3.46 points to trade at 90.92 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) declined 2.25% or 5.70 points to end at 247.30 and Vonovia SE (DE:) was down 1.79% or 0.84 points to 46.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:) which rose 23.29% to 61.84, Aurubis AG (DE:) which was up 3.92% to settle at 55.140 and Duerr AG (DE:) which gained 3.03% to close at 30.250.

The worst performers were Fraport AG (DE:) which was down 2.98% to 75.520 in late trade, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.25% to settle at 247.30 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.07% to 184.500 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:) which rose 7.56% to 4.270, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.01% to settle at 58.250 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.86% to close at 8.4240.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.07% to 184.500 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:) which lost 1.50% to settle at 22.280 and Wirecard AG (DE:) which was down 1.09% to 104.450 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 421 to 269 and 65 ended unchanged.

Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; up 23.29% or 11.68 to 61.84. Shares in Aurubis AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.92% or 2.080 to 55.140. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.01% or 1.700 to 58.250.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.26% to 13.91.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.56% or 8.25 to $1480.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.23% or 0.73 to hit $59.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 0.88 to trade at $65.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1121, while EUR/GBP fell 1.26% to 0.8345.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 97.185.
