Meanwhile, Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:) added 4.15% or 1.080 points to end at 27.100 and Wisetech Global Ltd (ASX:) was up 4.06% or 1.360 points to 34.860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Speedcast International Ltd (ASX:), which fell 4.42% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Mayne Pharma Group Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.560 and CYBG PLC (ASX:) was down 2.49% or 0.050 points to 1.960.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 639 to 388 and 324 ended unchanged.
Shares in CYBG PLC (ASX:) fell to all time lows; falling 2.49% or 0.050 to 1.960.

AUD/USD was down 0.21% to 0.6754, while AUD/JPY fell 0.27% to 72.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.532.
