Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the lost 0.33%, while the index declined 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:), which rose 6.93% or 24.20 points to trade at 367.05 at the close. Meanwhile, HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) added 3.61% or 37.60 points to end at 1080.60 and UPL Ltd (NS:) was up 3.30% or 19.20 points to 603.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:), which fell 34.38% or 134.10 points to trade at 255.90 at the close. Yes Bank Ltd (NS:) declined 14.36% or 7.00 points to end at 41.40 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) was down 6.13% or 90.80 points to 1383.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which rose 5.29% to 367.25, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 3.76% to settle at 1080.50 and Infosys Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.93% to close at 805.30.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which was down 15.06% to 41.45 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 6.84% to settle at 1381.60 and State Bank Of India (BO:) which was down 3.68% to 270.90 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1183 to 419 and 55 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1638 fell and 745 advanced, while 144 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 34.38% or 134.10 to 255.90. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (NS:) fell to 5-year lows; down 14.36% or 7.00 to 41.40. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 15.06% or 7.35 to 41.45.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.50% to 15.8725.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.83% or 12.55 to $1493.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.09% or 0.61 to hit $55.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.62 to trade at $60.42 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.43% to 70.795, while EUR/INR rose 0.30% to 77.3400.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.870.
